Huge congratulations to Anya on becoming a Grand Champion during TICA’s Regional Show in Maidstone! She did extremely well in her first show as an “adult”, in a class of 34 cats. We couldn’t be more proud – thanks to the judges for lovely comments!

The morning of the show didn’t start as expected because of some car troubles, which meant that we arrived terribly late and I had to bring Anya to the judging ring before I even managed to set up her pen!
Even with all this added stress, Anya showcased her sweet personality – which resulted in judge Katharina Krenn calling us back for a final and awarding her 3rd place among all 34 cats.
This meant Anya was a Champion and I was perfectly content with that result – but she wasn’t done picking up those finals!
Maria Bunina gave her 3rd place in her speciality ring, while in the remaining all-breed rings we picked up 6th place from Nicki Fenwick-Raven and 5th place from Irene Van Belzen.
I am so grateful to the judges for their amazing comments and for loving this special girl as much as I do – I couldn’t be prouder.
Also, thanks to fellow exhibitors who were there to help as I was clerking in one of the rings (and believe you me, keeping track of what is going on is a job in itself, add to that running your own cat and things can be quite confusing!).
Overall, we had a great time and it’s such an amazing result considering it was our first show in the “Adult” class, going against some much older and highly titled cats – I definitely wasn’t expecting us to pick up 4 out of 5 finals, with some high placings too! We got back home very happy, Anya promptly went to sleep, after munching on some well deserved treats.
